Our Services
Students will explore a local green or nature space, where they will discover what the similarities and differences are between plants and animals. They will explore the needs of plants and animals and how some of the species in Alberta meet those needs. This will be an hour long hike with stops to talk about local examples as well as play short interactive games to help explore concepts.

Diverse plants and animals can be found in many environments in Alberta, such as forests prairies lakes and rivers mountains

Ways that plants and animals, or their parts, help meet the needs of humans include providing air for breathing food clothing shelter medicine connection (social/emotional)
Students will explore a local green or nature space, where they will enter the world of seasonal changes. Why do seasons change, what do the plants and animals of Alberta do in the different seasons. This will be an hour long hike with stops to talk about local examples as well as play short interactive games to help explore concepts.

Seasonal changes appear in plants and animals, such as camouflage in animals leaves changing colour and falling flowers blooming crops and plants greening and growing
Discuss how changes in the appearance of environments, plants, and animals are related to the seasons
Migration is the regular movement patterns of animals from one area to another, usually in response to seasonal changes.
Hibernation allows animals to survive the winter with little or no food, usually by sleeping for long periods of time
Investigate animal behaviour throughout the seasons, including migration and hibernation.

With a strong personal belief that education is the first step of conservation I created WildBoreal with the mission of engaging with people in a way that inspires them to reconnect with nature and the outdoors, supporting their mental and physical well being, while appreciating the beauty of the world around us. While providing an opportunity to learn about the plants and animals that inhabit our natural region!
